ABIGAIL MOODY

"You'll get the benefit of years of legal expertise — but more importantly, you'll get my time."

Abigail Moody founded Moody Legal Counsel to give injured Georgians the kind of personal attention bigger firms can't offer. Her clients work directly with her — not a paralegal, not a junior associate — from the first conversation through the final settlement check.

Born and raised in Augusta, Abigail graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia with a degree in Journalism — training that still shapes how she tells her clients' stories to insurance adjusters and juries. She earned her law degree cum laude from the University of South Carolina, where she served on the South Carolina Law Review, tutored other students in legal writing, and was inducted into the Order of the Whig and Robe.

After law school, Abigail clerked for the Honorable Judge Dalis in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Georgia. She then opened Moody Legal Counsel, where she focuses on personal injury and consumer bankruptcy — two practice areas that often overlap for clients buried in medical bills and lost wages after an accident.

J. SLADE EDWARDS

Slade has tried a dozen medical malpractice cases to verdict — and has never lost one.

For sixteen years, Slade Edwards defended the insurance companies, hospitals, and doctors who would be on the other side of a case like yours. He worked with every major insurance carrier in Georgia, learned exactly how they evaluate and negotiate claims, and built relationships with expert witnesses across virtually every medical specialty. In 2020, he switched sides — and now uses everything he learned for plaintiffs.

A Macon native, Slade graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.B.A. in Risk Management and earned his law degree from Mercer's Walter F. George School of Law. In law school, he served as lead counsel for both Mercer's intrastate Moot Court team and its national ATLA trial competition team, earned the Outstanding Achievement in Legal Writing award, and made the Dean's List.

Slade started his career at Martin Snow in Macon defending auto-accident cases. In 2008, Progressive Insurance hired him as house counsel and promoted him to manage their Macon office within his first year. After four years running that office, he returned to Martin Snow and joined the firm's medical malpractice section, defending hospitals and physicians. He made partner in 2014 and was chairing the medical malpractice section when he left in 2019. He spent the next year at Hall Booth Smith's South Carolina office continuing that work before joining Moody Legal in 2020.

Slade has tried countless auto cases and a half-dozen medical malpractice cases to verdict. He won a defense verdict in every one — a perfect record on the defense side. That experience is exactly why injured clients now want him on theirs: he knows what the other side is looking at, what they're afraid of, and what makes them pay.
